Installation VMware ESXi 6.5.0 on HPE Proliant DL320e Gen8 v2 server #Part 1

Hi!  here I will share a little about the steps to install Esxi 6.5.0

I installed ESXi 6.5 on the HPE Proliant DL320e Gen8 v2 server.

Before installing ESXi on your server, you can see the VMWare Comability Guide, to ensure compatibility of the required device requirements.

okay, go straight to the installation stage:

1. Prepare a bootable cd / dvd / flasdisk installation media. and of course the VMWare ESXi 6.5 ISO file. but here I just upload the iso file without having to make it bootable.


2. Reboot server and  press the (F11 / Other) button on the keyboard to enter boot settings, when the server lights up again


3. Then select boot media One time To CD Room, Select by pressing the number key 1



4. Press enter and select ESXi boot


5. Loading ESXi installer



6. Press enter to continue installation


7. Press F11 to agree to the EULA



8. Select storage, to install ESXi, press enter 


9. Choose Keyboard Layout, Select US and press enter to continue 


10. Enter root password  (Use a strong password) , and press enter to continue 


11.Confirm Install, Press F11 to start installation ESXi 

 

12. Installation Progress


13. Installation complete, select remove the installation media before rebooting (The server will reboot) 


14. The installation is complete, the next step is to set up the ESXi Network Server (IP Address, DNS, etc). press F2 to enter the Customize System menu


15. enter the root user along with the password, which we set earlier


16. Enter the Configure Management Network menu


17. Select IPv4 Configuration 


18. Set static or dynamic, I set static because I don't use a DHCP server, Fill in the Static IP Address, netmask, and gateway , press enter 

 

19. Next, set the primary and secondary DNS servers, select DNS configuration 

20. Enter the primary server, and secondary (if using), and fill in the hostname, press enter to save 


21. if it has set up a network, press Esc to exit the Network Management menu
       press Y to apply changes and restart management network 


22. Next step, enable SSH so that the ESXi server can be remote controlled using CLI SSH.Select            menu Troubleshooting Options 

 

23. Press enter on SSH , and make sure ssh support is enabled on the right. press Esc and confirm Y          to exit from Troublehsooting Options menu 
   

       So far the basic settings for Esxi have been completed
       Next, access the vsphere web client to manage the VM on the ESXi host. in a way :
24. Connect the RJ45 cable / another cable on the ESXi server management interface to the          switch or connect directly to the laptop
25. Set the laptop IP Address so that one network with IP ESXi
26. Test Ping ESXi IP address (Make sure it is connected properly)
27. Access IP Address ESXi using a browser, to run the vSphere web client               
      https://192.168.100.10


28. Select advanced , and click procedd to 192.168.100.10. 
   



29. login using the root user and password


30. Select Join the VMware ....(Optional)



31.The following is the main display of VMWare ESXi, using the vsphere web client. and you can already make a Virtual Machine ... (It seems that there is a VIirtual Machine that I made before)

langkah2 konfigurasi mikrotik menggunakan GUI dg WINBOX
